CONTROLLED AND RELEASED
This design grows from the Wearing Architecture portfolio, where architectural pattern cutting is used to turn built forms into cloth.
The sleeves are held in firm folds, creating a wide shape around the shoulders. Across the body, softer pleats are left free to open, close and move with the wearer.
TWO WAYS OF LIVING
One part of the garment is controlled. The other is allowed to move. This contrast reflects two very different ways of living: comfort and survival, protection and exposure, a space designed for you and a shelter made only because you need one.
SPACE AROUND THE BODY
Clothing can cover the body, but it can also create a space around it. Here, firm folds hold their shape while softer pleats respond to every step. The garment becomes both shelter and form.
