MEET NIKKI

Nikki Huang is the founder and designer behind Nikki SUU. Born in Taiwan, shaped by time spent in Japan and now based in London, she brings different cultures, histories and ways of seeing into her work.

She is drawn to clean lines, bold shoulders, soft draping and carefully cut details. Each design begins with an idea, a memory or a question, then develops through drawing, pattern cutting and work on the body.

Nikki does not design clothes to hide a woman. She designs them to help her feel seen.

MADE BY HAND, BUILT ON THE BODY

Nikki’s work is grounded in fashion design, pattern cutting, costume and draping. Her process often begins on the mannequin, where cloth can be folded, pinned, cut and changed directly on the body.

Some shapes fall softly. Others rise sharply from the shoulder or hold their own space around the wearer. Nikki studies every line from the front, side and back until the garment feels complete.

The result is clothing that is not only drawn, but understood through making.

CLOTHES WITH A REASON

Every Nikki SUU piece begins with a reason. It may start with a woman, a memory, a question or a moment in history.

The brand does not produce clothing simply to create more. Pieces are made in small numbers or only after an order is placed, with close attention to fabric, cut and finish.

Less clothing. More meaning.

INSIDE NIKKI’S MIND

The ideas often begin before the fabric: in drawings, collage, photography and collected images.
